Pushpa 2 Honest Review: All You Need to Know Before Watching

I finally watched Pushpa 2: The Rule, and I’m still in shock! I’m sitting here lost in thought, What did I just see? I know it’s not fair to judge a film after seeing it just once, but honestly, I doubt I’ll watch it again, even when it’s available on streaming. Why? Because it was just huge! Did they really need to make it this long? They should have turned it into a series! I don’t mind long films, but this one… not worth it!

I’ve watched Pushpa: The Rise 3-4 times, even in theaters, but I never felt this level of irritation because first movie had a smooth storyline that progressed step by step—something this movie severely lacks. At the start, there was an intriguing fight scene with Japanese villains, which had me the most excited. But those characters vanish without a trace for the rest of the movie! I kept waiting, thinking, “They’ll show up now,” but nope—they never returned. Honestly, the movie didn’t even have a proper main villain.

Many scenes from the trailer didn’t make it into the film, likely to keep the movie shorter. It feels like this film was stretched out to make way for a third part. They had plenty of material to work with for this installment, but it seems like they either cut scenes or chose to save them for the next movie to keep audiences curious. As a result, the film felt a bit disconnected from the roots. Honestly, there wasn’t anyone else in the movie who could match Pushpa’s energy and charm.

I enjoyed the rivalry between Pushpa and Inspector Shekhawat, but it could have been resolved in the first half, which would have created space for the main villain to shine. To be honest, I didn’t expect this movie to be so straightforward and average. Every song in the movie was pathetic. However, one thing is certain: Allu Arjun’s performance was incredible. He truly carried the film, delivering outstanding moments whether it was an action scene or a heartfelt moment. His talent was impressive in every frame!

So yes, it’s definitely worth a one-time watch, but for me, the ranking remains:
Pushpa: The Rise > Pushpa 2: The Rule
